'A HISTORICAL CHRISTMAS'

The City of Cowan’s 43rd Annual Christmas Parade will be held on December 1, 2007 at 12:30 P.M.  In recognition of Franklin County’s Bicentennial celebration, the 2007 parade theme is 200 Years of Franklin County Christmas’.  Twas the Night Before festivities will kick off on Friday night, November 30 with a Community Christmas Tree and Park Lighting Ceremony in the Railroad Park at 6:00 P.M.  Santa will be visiting with children at the Welcome Center and handing out goody bags from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.  A photographer will be available to record those special moments with Santa Claus.  At that same time, there will be caroling in the park with free hot chocolate, coffee, and cookies to all those in attendance. The parade committee is also hosting a citywide Christmas Lighting Contest (maps will be available for those who wish to drive around and view the lights).
