Cowan Christmas parade - CHURCHES:
Dear Cowan Churches:
The Cowan Christmas Parade Committee is in the planning stages for the 43rd Annual Cowan Christmas Parade. We are planning for events to begin on Friday night November 30 with a park and community tree lighting ceremony as well as Santa at the Welcome Center, with hot cocoa, coffee, and cookies for all visitors and goody bags for the children.
We would like to invite your church choir to join us at the park on Friday night to entertain visitors with Christmas carols. We believe this would be an excellent time for the community to come together and share our beautiful little town with our visitors and begin the Christmas season celebration.
We would also like to encourage the churches to enter floats in the parade. The theme for the 2007 parade is 200 Years of Franklin County Christmas’. We would love to see every church in town, and throughout the county, enter a float in our parade.
Please let us know as soon as possible if your choir would like to participate in this special event so that we can begin putting a schedule together. Also, if you are interested in entering a float in the parade, entry forms are available at Cowan City Hall or we would be happy to fax or mail one to you.
We look forward to hearing from you.
